Wheat Dress

This dress was a stash buster for sure! Everything used in its creation came from other projects or hand me downs. Nothing was bought specifically for this dress, not even the zipper! To give you a rundown, the fabric (about 9 yards total!) is a poly georgette (sheer) that was given to me years ago. The embroidery floss and beads are left over from Princess Anna’s Coronation gown, and the zipper, bias tape for the hem, and thread I just happened to have on hand.

I used Vogue 8972 as the basis of the dress, and fit it quite extensively to my shape to get a glove fit. The dress is two layers of georgette (except for the sleeves which are only one), and features a fully embroidered and beaded 18 foot hem. Yes, 6 yards of hem!
