Aurora Flower Dress

I seem to have a love for Aurora as of late. Perhaps because I’m exploring her subconsciously or because I just happen to have those fabrics lying around, begging to be used. In this case, I think it was the latter. The overdress is made of a very sheer polyester voile, which was originally bought for Zelda, though I edited out the piece of the costume it was supposed to make. The dress took 6 months of off- and on-again work.

I’ve detailed that here: https://jennieandnick.com/designer/making-of-the-aurora-flower-dress-mccalls-8078/

You can read up about the handmade flowers, the pattern specifics, and all the little details that went into the build. What this post does not tell you is that there is an entire second dress under the overdress. It’s made of cotton voile in the same magenta and is self-lined. It features a tiered hem with different gold hems on each.
