Wesley Dress
The so-called Wesley Dress is named after Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: The Next Generation as the bodice is eerily similar to his rainbow banded uniform. Made from linen and cotton blends, this dress is perfect for summer as it’s breezy and moisture wicking. I used Simplicity 8257 to create the look, and added deep single welt pockets to the hips. While I had issues with the pattern itself, the end result I love (even if the back point doesn’t quite line up at the zipper).
You can view the blog post tutorial for the single welt pockets here, it has pictures throughout for each step!

Oh! And this lovely artist @starsumiaki was inspired by my design to create an original alien character. They shared their art with me, so I’m sharing with you all!
So I guess that makes this a cosplay now?
