Cruella De Vil

What’s black and white and red all over?

Cruella De Vil. At *my* service darlings!

I had to bring this fabulous Disney Villain to life – in the most grand of ways: with a freaking ballgown. The materials used were chosen based on their animalistic qualities: fur (duh), zebra taffeta, pleather for the corset an belt, embroidery to look like feathers, ribbon that echoes teeth, and of course a puppy bag.

The bolero was hand painted with acrylic and then brushed extensively to regain the soft hand it started with. To give you an idea of weight, the overskirt alone is around eight pounds of fur. I definitely get my workout in wearing this one – but at least I have GIGANTIC pockets sewn into the overskirt! 🙂
